Okay, it's back on!

Oh and Boston Rob is awesome, and Russell is ridiculus as always. haha.

Books to read

So lately my home away from home has been the local library. I love the online system that allows me to queue up and have books sent to my local branch where after an email notification, it sits waiting with my name on it. :) I really love to read or listen to audiobooks (as of late) and I have come to find that I get sort of depressed when I finished my books, especially when I finish a series. I can't tell you how bummed I was when I finished the Harry Potter series. I'm sure there were lots who felt the same when that series ended, as it was a 10 year adventure. After the umpteenth time of feeling empty after finishing a book I decided to google to see if anyone else felt the same and lo and behold, I wasn't! Many, many, many people have asked the same question! Does anyone else get depressed when finishing a book? I like to think it's people who have a huge imagination and love to be a part of another world. You become so involved with the characters and living in that world that the book takes you to that when you're done, you don't want to leave, you don't want it to end!

I am a huge fan of fantasy, sci-fi, or any fiction really. I love being taken to other worlds, I love the adventure and the suspense and it doesn't hurt to add a love triangle or love plot somewhere in there too haha. I've never been a non-fiction/autobiography fan... Although in these times, it seems important to know where we came from and about people who have made a difference in the world, but I'm just one of those who want to get away from reality.

So lately I've been going to the local bookstore (Borders) and looking to see the newest titles, I'm preferring Young Adult literature to just adult fiction. I think it's been a real craze since the Twilight Saga came out. And I have to say, I started reading it after New Moon had come out before it really got big. Also when Stephanie Meyer released her adult fiction The Host, I went to the book signing and had that signed and my copy of Eclipse. =) Just had to throw that out there lol. They are safely tucked away in my book shelf. As of yesterday I have 43 books/audiobooks/manga checked out. [Oh yeah, manga, I'm a fan of anime and this is my first time really trying to read some manga since a lot of people seem to prefer the manga version to the anime version of some titles. Right now I have Vampire Knight sitting on my bedside table.] I have about 25 audiobooks that I'm cycling through my laptop and storing. My theory for this need, is that I want to have a plethora of books to choose from when I get bummed from finishing one. Also, it's easier to get the audiobook of a new release than the actual book. Another perk is that I can get more stuff done around the house while listening to a book than it's been trying to listen to a DVD.

That all being said, I like to put in my cell phone the titles I find striking at the bookstore to search for later. I'm thinking about compiling a list here for Books-to-read so I don't forget and if people actually read this, they can comment on the titles too (if you like or dislike, why or why not.)

The Mysterious Benedict Society
The Night of the Solstice
The Looking Glass Wars
Wintergirls
Speak
Fell
Vanished
The Eternal Kiss
Blood Ninja
The Islands of the Blessed
Reckless
Cloaked
Brain Jack
The Game
The New Kid series
The Necromancer
Jekel Loves Hyde
Shadowspell
Balefire
Virals
The Prince of Mist
The Fallen
Book of Spells
Once in a Full Moon

Just to name a few. I may or may not adjust/add/remove titles.

Grammy's- And Arcade Fire wins!!

I'm uber excited they won over Lady Gaga! I do love Gaga, but ever since I saw them perform Laika on Late Night with Conan O'brien back in February 2005, I was a fan. The canadian based band is sooo quirky and different that I was in love... so to speak lol.
Anyways!! I'm thoroughly pleased. :) I also loved Katy Perry's performance at the Grammy's with the footage of her wedding in the background as she sat high on her swing. And did NOT like John Mayer trying to look like Johnny Depp. Depp is one hot man without even trying.
I'm still watching the Grammy's via DVR sooo..

Already behind a day!

So I'm already behind a day... I hate when I miss one day of doing something. It makes it harder to start back up again, and quite frankly I just get lazy. Haha. So today I won't review a product to make up for yesterday, instead I'll talk about a movie that I found while going through my Dvd's that I'm preparing to rewatch. Since I keep all my movies in CD binders, I don't have the plethora of cases to see all the titles right away, so I often forget I even have certain Dvd's. It's almost like finding money in a pants or jacket pocket. Or simply just going through old junk in an attic, when you get really excited when finding an old toy or something like it.

So the movie is Once. With unknowns Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. Reading up on wiki, they had a budget of $160,000. So it's definitely not a blockbuster, but I absolutely love it everytime I have watched it. It's a beautiful love story that isn't a typical love story. Without giving anything away, these two combine and tell a story like non other. I love the indie feel to it. The song "Falling Slowly" is remarkably beautiful and they actually won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Original Song which I was completely ecstatic about. I don't know about the real life couple now, if they are a couple still, but they were at that time which makes me love the movie even more. Who doesn't love when celebs hook up with costars? Like that ever happens right? It seems sweeter because they aren't the typical hollywood actors/celebs.

So I highly recommend this movie. The music again is beautiful and wonderful. It feels real and genuine and will leave you simply feeling. I hope you enjoy!

Product Review of the Day!

So I figured for today I'd review the toner I'm starting to use since yesterday I reviewed the cleanser. So it seems logical. Then tomorrow I'll talk about the moisturizer(s) I'm using too.

I went to Target today to just check out the whole Botanics collection available and they really have a big section for all the Boots products. I want to try every product but alas, my purse will not allow such a major undertaking and expenditures. Maybe one a week... We shall see! Anyways, they all look so natural and fresh. When I ordered the cleanser from drugstore.com, I also checked out the toners and found this toner to have a lot of great reviews

The Boots Botanics Organic Rosewater Toner for sale now on the site (orig $7.99 but 15% off right now for $6.79.) http://www.drugstore.com/qxp219464/boots_botanics/organic_rosewater_toner.htm?fromsrch=boots+toner The first thing I notice when using the product was the pleasant rose smell. It wasn't the older lady perfume smell. It was calm and very subtle and I rather enjoyed it. It rubs on easily and dries quickly enough. And so far it seems to be doing it's job of freshening up and helping to remove the make up I missed with the cleanser. :) I'm very pleased and agree with all the reviews that I read. I didn't notice any stinging, however my only concern is the opening. I wish it had a snap closure of some sort. It has a regular twist cap top. I worry if I have it open and knocked it over that I would lose about half of it. So I'm very cautious. Other than that, I would definitely recommend!

Product of the Day!

So I have been using Proactiv since I was about 16-17, which means that it's been roughly 10 years (see if you can figure out my age!). I have had a love-hate relationship with the 3 part product system. With my combination skin, it's been a rough up and down sort of battle that I'm continually fighting. So, every once in awhile I stop and try a new product. From Biore to M.A.C, store brand to well not quite upscale (Macys, Saks. etc etc. [I can't bring myself to fork over 100 bucks for one little bottle of moisturizer {that's highway robbery!}] or other upscale department store). Call me frugal (cheap is negative, but that is what it is in essence) but I don't want to pay for the name. I just want a product that is easier on the wallet and that actually works!

So... My new venture is from Boots brand which is found at Drugstore.com (on sale now from orig $6.99 to $5.94 [15% off]) or Target stores (probably between 6.99 to 7.99 as I know I saw it there but don't remember the exact price). The company originates from the U.K. (which has a soft place in my heart since I lived in England as a child from age 4 to 9.) As I understand Boots brand is one of the best selling and popular make up/skin care brands in the U.K. I'll probably talk more about other specific products by Boots, but today I'm in love with the Boots Botanics Skin Brightening Deep Clean Gel  for normal/oily skin (phew that is a mouthful)!

I like natural products, but I'm not completely partial to it (I don't just buy products JUST because it says it's all natural [if there's one think you'll learn about me, is that I am highly skeptical]). After reading several good reviews I figured I would try this out. It comes in a 5 fl oz bottle. Just looking at it, you're instantly attracted to its bright green almost glow, it's very refreshing just to look at! Mind you, it looks ultra fluorescent in this photo, in person it's still bright but not THAT bright. It comes out as a gel and lathers on my face nicely. It's very smooth and I really enjoy the scent, I don't think it's too over powering, just very pleasant overall and it really is refreshing. After an easy rinsing, it doesn't feel dry and tight like other cleansers I've used. I love it so far! I also bought a Boots toner and moisturizer that recieved great reviews. I'll have to share those products another day.

Just give this a try if you're looking for a refreshing new cleanser. =) I'm sure I will try more Boots products as I'm very interested in a lot of the Botantics and No.7 products.

Product of the Day/Week/Month =) - Testing in Progress

So Saturday I went into CVS looking for some neosporin. (Apparently mine expired in 2006! yikes!) Saw on the 75% off shelf some bottle of Nivea My Silhouette. I'd tried the cellulite cream non-religiously after seeing it on Oprah. (Let me tell you those bottles were on ebay for almost $40 that day.) I'll be honest I didn't notice a major difference as I didn't use it consistently.

But.... for $4.65 for a bottle. I'll make a more committed effort. So it begins.

I guess this post is just to share the fact that it normally is $18.99. That's what it rang up at initally before the cashier double checked. They don't look to be expired. I'm thinking they may be changing their packaging, because if it works, I don't understand why they wouldn't discontinue it right??

First Post.

And here we go..

I find that I need a place to throw out thoughts about all the many random things I like and love in life. As a youth (more like teen) I used to keep a journal, mainly to talk about the boys I liked and friends I hated and I did once start a blog several years ago, but failed to continue with that. I, like many I'm sure, began to care too much about what others thought about me personally. Here I feel, I may be a little anonymous and less personal in a sense. Maybe in time, I will share more, but who knows who may read this. This is me sharing myself to the world. (So to speak.. er type... )

My posts may include anything from video game (I consider myself a closet nerd), make up (yes I am still girly), nail polishes (more girly things), face painting (fun for family), books (I have a huge imagination and love fiction whether it be fantasy, sci-fi, urban.. etc), TV/Movies/Netflix/Hulu/YouTube/DVD/Blurays (Etc. etc.) Politics (JK! Don't get me started.. ), anime (yes I am fascinated with it and with Japan [i hope to visit one day]) and much more I'm sure. Guess we'll see how it goes from here. =)
